Summer Preschool Camps, Book Clubs and Math Camps
for Preschoolers – 9^th graders 

●Math Camps are a great way for children to have fun and practice math throughout the summer! These camps help children get ready for Kindergarten or help children maintain what they have learned in Grades K- 8 and learn new math skills too! We practice math and thinking strategies in a fun way!!  Each child will receive a HW book and we do lots of activities to make learning engaging and fun!

●Preschool Camps are theme based and a fun way for preschoolers to go to Camp before HCPSS ends.

●Book clubs are a fun way to experience literature!

Summer Math Camps: Kindergarten – 8 th grade
on Tuesdays & Wednesdays (Starts 6/23 & 6/24)

●Math Camps are a great way for children to have fun and practice math throughout the summer! These camps help children get ready for Kindergarten or help children maintain what they have learned in Grades K- 7 and learn new math skills too! (Registration form has more details)

Children learn and practice thinking strategies during all camps (self-regulation, feeling of competence, connecting events, selective attention- focus on important information, working memory, precision and accuracy, planning and following step by step) while having fun!

●Math Camps are offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays depending on the grade level.

●This year, I am offering 7 Math Camp classes. Your payment covers 5 classes. You can come to 5 classes, 4 classes plus a make-up day, or 3 classes plus 2 make-up days. Any combination of Math Camp classes to equal 5 classes. This will help everyone with vacation & camp schedules.

Also, there are a few counting Easter books in my store and some other items that are perfect to fit into an Easter basket like Hoppers or Sumuko.  Q-bitz is another really fun game!! Happy New Year!  I’m excited……Preschool Math Camps for Preschoolers Start Next Week!!

Math Camps are a great way for preschoolers to explore and investigate math in a hands-on and fun way!  Math Camps will start on Tuesday, January 10!  I love teaching Math Camps!  Attached is the registration form and information sheet about camp!  If you know anyone else that would be interested, I'd love to have them here too!  Feel free to forward my e-mail to others.

Math Camp will meet in Turf Valley Overlook in Ellicott City:
_________Tuesdays 9:30 – 10:45:  1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/14, 2/28, 3/7, 3/14 (MAKE-UP days- 2/7 and/or 3/21)

Wednesday Classes are offered at Mt. Hebron Nursery School- the next session will start the middle of February and anyone can attend.  Wed. classes at MHNS are from 11:30 – 12:30 and from 1 – 2:30.  Registration information for Discovery Clubs can be found at http://www.mthebronnursery.org/forms

Many times parents are asking me about ways to practice math at home. I think one of the best way to investigate and understand math concepts in a fun way is through games. Games teach number sense, logic, reasoning, spatial understanding, and many thinking strategies like focusing, connecting events, following multi-step directions, perseverance and having an “I CAN DO IT” attitude. Games also help develop working memory, and thought integration. There are also wonderful stories that have math connections and teach math skills in a fun way too.

My experience as a teacher of preschoolers – 8th grade and as a parent has helped me create an Amazon store that I hope you will find helpful. My children are ages 12 – 16 and we love to play games!  I just played Rack-O yesterday with my daughter! When we go on vacation, games are at the top of our packing list!

I put recommended ages next to the games, but some children are ready to play a game earlier and others love to keep playing certain games even when they are older than the suggested age. If children are too young to play a certain game by themselves, then they can join an older sibling or parent’s team and learn how to play the game in a fun way!
